<p class="Paragraph">If, for example, you want to print lottery tickets or entry tickets with serial numbers on them, this is how to do it:</p>

<p class="P2">Choose <span class="T1">File - New - Labels</span>. This opens the <span class="T1">Labels</span> dialog.</p>

<p class="P2">On the <span class="T1">Labels</span> tab, under <span class="T1">Format</span>, select the format in which you want to print. These label tags or rolls, available from specialist suppliers, are often made from stiff paper with tear-off perforations, or they are self-adhesive labels on a backing material.</p>
<p class="P2">If you want to define the format yourself, select the <span class="T1">Format</span> tab.</p>

<p class="P2">On the <span class="T1">Options</span> tab, mark <span class="T1">Synchronize contents</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">Click on <span class="T1">New Document</span>.</p>
<p class="P2">A new document is now created, divided up in the way you want. You only have to edit the top left label, then press <span class="T1">Synchronize labels</span> to make all labels appear the same. The button is only visible if you previously marked <span class="T1">Synchronize contents</span> on the <span class="T1">Options</span> tab.</p>
<p class="P2">Enter your text in the top left label and format the font the way you want it.</p>
<p class="P2">You can include serial numbering by inserting a field. Place the cursor at the point where the number should appear. Press <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">(Command)</help:case><help:default>(Ctrl)</help:default></help:switch>(F2) or choose <span class="T1">Insert - Fields - Other</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">In the <span class="T1">Fields</span> dialog, go to the <span class="T1">Variables</span> tab.</p>

<p class="P2">Select the type <span class="T1">Set variable</span>, if it is not already marked.</p>

<p class="P2">In the <span class="T1">Name</span> box, enter a name of your choice for the counting variable, for example <span class="T1">Number</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">To increment the variable from one label to the next by 1, enter the following formula in the <span class="T1">Value</span> text box: <span class="T1">Number+1</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">Click <span class="T1">Insert</span>, then close the <span class="T1">Fields</span> dialog.</p>
